The Story
In 2018, we coated the first vehicle in Iceland as a real-world test. Not a laboratory test. Not a controlled environment. A working vehicle, driven daily through volcanic silica dust at Mohs 5–7, sodium and magnesium chloride road brine, geothermal sulphur deposits, and temperature cycles that no Central European product test is designed to simulate.
Eight years later, that vehicle is still protected. The coating is still performing.
What followed 2018 was not marketing. It was fieldwork. We developed the Royal Details Exterior Wash Protocol and the Iceland Winter Decontamination Protocol a process built specifically for Arctic conditions, published as a case study by the International Detailing Association. Every stage, every chemical selection, every dwell time, and every maintenance interval in the Royal Coatings warranty system came from that work.
In 2026, after eight years of testing in the harshest detailing environment in Europe, we launched the Royal Coatings a Nano Coating line. Royal Guard, Royal Shield, Royal Ultra, and Royal Crystal are not products designed for ideal conditions. They were built for Iceland.
